Allison Brennan

If any of you enjoys reading novels of suspense, check out Allison Brennan’s work. She is one of my favourite authors! Most of her novels are considered romantic suspense and they are fantastic. A few weeks ago I was able to find two of her novels that I have been looking for for years now, Fatal Secrets and Cutting Edge. I was so excited to finally find them, so I read the first book in that particular series again, Sudden Death, and it is a fantastic read. Lots of suspense, a ton of surprises and some romance thrown in.

I believe I now own 18 of her novels and 3 of her short stories/ novellas. I am a huge fan of her writing and will tell just about anyone who will listen! If any of you are a fan of suspense or just want to check out a great book, look for one of Allison Brennan’s novels. Believe me, you won’t be disappointed!

And on a side note, her series Speak No Evil, See No Evil and Hear No Evil made me very interested in sexual assault/ abuse and about six years ago I did a school assignment based off of this series. Recently, I have decided to go back to school, and go to university to take Women’s and Gender Studies, so one day I can work as a women’s counselor in a shelter or community centre, or work in women’s rights. I believe that reading Allison Brennan’s books over the years, and especially that particular series, sent me in this direction which is amazing! So thank you to Allison Brennan for opening up my eyes and for giving me fantastic books to read.

 

Boston

I just wanted to write a short post today about what’s happened in Boston. There were three explosions this afternoon as the Boston Marathon was happening. I have read that at least 2 people are dead and 28 people are injured. The numbers seem to keep changing though so I could be incorrect on that number. Either way, this is a horrible thing to have happened, and even though I am nowhere near the area, seeing as I am in Canada, it is still very scary to hear about. Why on earth people would do something like this, I will never understand. My thoughts go out to all of the people involved and I hope they find whoever did this and throw them in jail.

Animals

For anyone who is an animal lover/ advocate, you should check out www.peta.org and www.peta2.com You can read lots of information about what they do, sign petitions to help animals, and even get free stuff! For an avid animal lover such as myself, I love these websites. I’ve been a part of them for many years. Check them out

Safe Haven

I saw Safe Haven last month with my best friend. It’s a great movie, starring Julianne Hough and Josh Duhamel. The 115 minute film was released on February 14th this year. It is about a young woman with a mysterious past who lands in Southport, North Carolina, where her bond with a widower forces her to confront the dark secret that haunt her.

The movie also has Cobie Smulders from How I Met Your Mother. It has tons of suspense, drama and romance and has a big surprise! It is a great film for anybody who loves drama and likes a bit of romance thrown in. I would recommend it to pretty much anyone, and I would rate it a 10 out of 10. Go check it out if you haven’t seen it yet.
