Fashion Star

April 16, 2012

For the last two or three weeks, I have been tuning into Fashion Star on Tuesday nights. What drew me in is the fact that Jessica Simpson is one of the mentors (I’ve been a big fan of hers since I was a kid!) and that you can actually buy the clothes online as soon as the episode is finished! It’s so cool that they’ve done that so I had to check it out.

I think some of the designers on the show have a lot of talent and do make really cool stuff, although some of the designs are over my head (haha). Some of the designers on the other hand I don’t think are very good, but I guess everyone has their own taste, right?

So last week the designer Nikki made this cute dress:

How the show works, is that there are 3 buyers: H&M, Macy’s and Sacks, and if one of them likes the design they will make an offer to have it in their store. I’m not sure how much Nikki was offered, but H&M gave her an offer so it’s now in their stores! I believe one of the others also gave her an offer, but I don’t remember. When the designers get more than one offer, the highest offer wins so sometimes the buyers have a bidding war, which must make the designer feel great! If the designers don’t get any offers, they are up for elimination.

So anyway I thought this dress was cute. It also comes in a pinkish-red colour as well. Does anyone else like it, or watch the show?

I’ll have to tune in this week to see what else I like!
