Neglect

March 24, 2013

I realized that I have been neglecting my blog. I have been focusing my energy on my horror blog: www.horrorlovers.wordpress.com and writing for www.horror-lovers.ca. I apologize for this, and I will try my best to post more.

This last week has been the Canadian Music Festival in Toronto and last night I went to two shows. Once I upload my photos I will post the photos and some info about the shows!

So for now, I ask you all to wait for my next posts and check out my newest blog.

I’ll leave you with a link to my friend Jesse Labelle’s newest single, How Long: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aMZQASbcpk8

Jesse Labelle: How Long

February 18, 2013

My friend Jesse Labelle came out with a new single last week called How Long. It is a catchy pop song similar to other songs on his second album Two. It is different in that it is more like electronic pop than bubblegum pop; so in other words, it is more similar to Faber Drive’s music than to Britney Spears’.

If you enjoy pop music or just want to check out a great, catchy new song that you will certainly want to listen to over and over and will quickly learn the words to, check out How Long by my talented friend Jesse Labelle. I’m sure you’ll love it (just like I do)!

Jesse is an artist from Toronto (Canada) who has been in the music industry for over ten years, and has several other catchy singles such as Perfect Accident, Easier and Heartbreak Coverup (featuring Alyssa Reid).

New Music!

January 10, 2013

I just found out that Justin Timberlake and Destiny’s Child are both putting out new music soon! JT hasn’t put out new music for years, and DC broke up in 2005 I believe so this is very exciting! Once I find out more information I will post it.

Is anyone else as excited as I am?

Top Five Bands

January 10, 2013

Today I would like to introduce you to my top five favourite bands. I wanted to make a list of ten, but I could not decide on ten favourites, so I chose five. Please read my list, check out the bands, and let me know what you think!

  • Simple Plan: My favourite band in the whole world! They are from Montreal, Quebec (Canada) and I have been a fan for 9 or 10 years now, and seen them perform 4 times I believe. They tour all over the world, so sadly they don’t get to visit each place very often.
  • Blink 182: Probably the only band who I can actually say I love just as much as Simple Plan. They are American and I have been a fan for around 9 or 10 years now, but I have yet to see them perform live, which makes me sad!
  • Maroon 5: I have liked them since around 2004 I believe. They are American and I have seen them perform once live- they were fantastic!
  • Marianas Trench: These guys are from Vancouver, BC (Canada) and I have liked them for probably 4 or 5 years now. I haven’t been a fan for as long as many other people have, but they are a great band. I’m not sure how many times I have seen them live.
  • The Little Black Dress: If you have been reading my blog for a while, you will recognize their name. I have a few friends in the band and they are fantastic! I first heard about them in October 2010, and have been a fan ever since. I have absolutely no idea how many times I’ve seen them perform, because it’s a huge number!

Who is your favourite band?

Book Signing

December 7, 2012

Good afternoon!

As you may know, this past Sunday I was able to meet my favourite band again. Simple Plan has been my favourite band for about 10 years now, which is much longer than I have liked a lot of other bands and artists. They have put out 4 albums, 1 live album, 1 dvd, many hit singles, and most recently, a book titled: Simple Plan The Official Story. It is a huge hardcover book with hundreds of photos, facts, memorabilia and their whole story as a band up until now. It is the coolest thing I think I have ever seen!

This past sunday they came to Chapters in Toronto to meet fans and sign stuff for everyone. I was able to get my book signed, as well as my dvd. It was very exciting to meet them for the second time (I had met them in June of 2011 as well) and the meeting made for a great afternoon. As I came close to the front of the line, I was getting more excited and nervous by the minute. When I walked up to them, they were all so nice, smiling at me and talking to me. I was only able to take a photo with Pierre (the lead singer) at the table, which was alright, although it would have been nice to get photos with everyone. For the picture, Seb (guitar, backing vocals) also leaned in so he’s in it as well (as well as I was able to get a solo photo with him after). Seb and Chuck (the drummer, who is my favourite member of the band) even remembered meeting me last year, which is amazing!! It was so great to be able to talk to them all a bit (I spoke with Chuck the longest) and get hugs from the guys. The other two members of the band are David (bass, backing vocals) and Jeff (lead guitar) who I wasn’t able to meet last year. They are all such nice guys who are incredibly talented and will always have a big place in my heart. No band or artist can ever replace them as my #1, and I look forward to meeting them again one day and hopefully seeing them play again soon!

I did take a bunch of photos, but they didn’t turn out very well. I will leave you with a photo of the band taken by Chapters. (The photo is not mine and is the property of Chapters)

December

December 1, 2012

Good morning!

I can’t believe it’s already December now! It seems like November just flew by. I am not looking forward to it getting colder and for snow to come. I hate snow!! I’m hoping we have a winter similar to our last one. It was much warmer with a lot less snow. It makes it easier to actually go out and do things, because I can’t stand snow and the cold!

On more of a positive note, I get to meet my favourite band in the whole wide world tomorrow (again!). I am meeting Simple Plan tomorrow, and I am incredibly excited. I got to meet them last year in June, and it was awesome! I saw them a few days afterwards and Chuck (the drummer, who is my favourite member of the band) even remembered me! They put out a book last month called Simple Plan The Official Story (with both french and english versions) which includes their story as a band, tons of awesome photos, song lyrics, stuff from tours, and tons of information that even I didn’t know. The book is so cool! So I am very excited about tomorrow. I am hoping to be able to take some photos at the book signing, so I will be sure to post them if I do.

Have a great weekend everyone, I know I will. 🙂
