I realized that I have been neglecting my blog. I have been focusing my energy on my horror blog: and writing for I apologize for this, and I will try my best to post more.

This last week has been the Canadian Music Festival in Toronto and last night I went to two shows. Once I upload my photos I will post the photos and some info about the shows!

So for now, I ask you all to wait for my next posts and check out my newest blog.

I’ll leave you with a link to my friend Jesse Labelle’s newest single, How Long:

New Blog

January 8, 2013

I would like to introduce my new blog: Horror Lovers.

I decided to make a new blog that will be all about horror. Everything from movies to books to facts will be written about on my blog, and I hope every fan of the horror genre will check it out! From now on, I will not be writing about horror on this blog, so that I can leave it all for the new one. I will still continue to post regularly on this blog about all of the many topics I love to write about, so don’t worry I am not abandoning you all. I am still in the midst of transferring some horror posts over to the new blog, so bare with me, but please check it out and follow Horror Lovers.

Texas Chainsaw 3D

January 7, 2013

Yesterday I went to see Texas Chainsaw 3D, which is the first of hopefully many great horror movies to be released this year. It was released on Friday (January 4th) and made $23 Million this weekend, beating out all of the other films playing right now.

In this 92 minute horror flick, a young woman named Heather finds out she was adopted and travels to Newt, Texas to collect an inheritance from a grandmother she never knew she had. She has no idea that what’s in store for her includes a killer, who wears his victim’s faces as his own, and uses a chainsaw as his weapon of choice.

Texas Chainsaw is the seventh (yes, you read that right, I said the seventh) movie in the franchise. This film picks up where the original 1974 film leaves off, so if you have seen the original or the 2003 remake, you will be able to follow along. Many unknown actors star in the movie, but the two who caught my eye were Tania Raymonde as Nikki (who you may know from Malcolm in the Middle as Cynthia, and Alex from Lost), and Shaun Sipos (who you may recognize from Melrose Place 2.0 as David, and from the movies The Grudge 2 and Final Destination 2).

While watching the movie, I found that approximately the first half was filled with too many horror puns, unnecessary comedic moments and irritating camera angles. Once the second half of the film got on it’s way, I found the movie became more enjoyable, being filled with lots of suspense, gore, and a terrific view of the story that I had never considered. The ending is a surprise and as someone who has seen more horror movies in the last 10 to 12 years than most people probably see in a lifetime, it can be difficult to surprise me; but Texas Chainsaw managed to do the unthinkable. One thing I think I would change is that I found that the film did not use the 3D effects quite as much as I would have thought, so personally I think it would have been better to just see it in 2D.

After watching Texas Chainsaw, I would recommend it to any horror lover. The film definitely has it’s flaws, but I believe that if you are a true lover of the horror genre- meaning you love gore, you know your favourite horror movie killer by heart and you can’t help but talk about horror when given the opportunity, then watch this movie. Afterwards you can come back here and we can discuss everything from the movie and the genre. 😉

An Interesting Find

January 5, 2013

Good evening,

I have been looking over my statistics for my blog, and I have found something very interesting and very intriguing. My home page is my most viewed page, but as for the most viewed blog post, that would be 2012 Horror Movies I Look Forward To. I wrote the post last January, and it has been viewed over 530 times, which is more than 200 times more than the next most viewed post. I find this very interesting, because as you may know already, I love horror movies. As a genre, they are better than any other genre, and I have seen so many that there is no possible way to count them all. I embrace the title Horror Buff, and could talk Horror all day long.

Since I now know that this is such a popular topic among my wonderful readers, this means I will write more posts about horror movies and all of their glory. If there are any movies in particular you would like me to write about or review, let me know. This will also give me a chance to go more into the genre in other ways than just movies. I read horror novels, watch horror shows and overall love the genre so I am sure I can come up with lots to write about. Let me know if you have any suggestions! 😉

And here’s a little quote to leave you with:

“She just goes a little mad sometimes…. We all go a little mad sometimes” (Psycho, 1960)

Look at where I went after work this morning- chapters! It’s one of my favourite stores, I think I could live in the horror section. I bought the next book in Joe McKinney’s dead series: Flesh Eaters. I look forward to reading it! I also bought the fourth book in the series: Mutated. I will be sure to post reviews when I am finished reading them. Have any books caught your eye lately?
