Seven days…

I think it would be fun to share a quote each day from different horror movies. Hopefully it will encourage you to watch the movies I share quotes from, whether you have already seen the films or not.

Today’s is from The Ring.

An Interesting Find

January 5, 2013

Good evening,

I have been looking over my statistics for my blog, and I have found something very interesting and very intriguing. My home page is my most viewed page, but as for the most viewed blog post, that would be 2012 Horror Movies I Look Forward To. I wrote the post last January, and it has been viewed over 530 times, which is more than 200 times more than the next most viewed post. I find this very interesting, because as you may know already, I love horror movies. As a genre, they are better than any other genre, and I have seen so many that there is no possible way to count them all. I embrace the title Horror Buff, and could talk Horror all day long.

Since I now know that this is such a popular topic among my wonderful readers, this means I will write more posts about horror movies and all of their glory. If there are any movies in particular you would like me to write about or review, let me know. This will also give me a chance to go more into the genre in other ways than just movies. I read horror novels, watch horror shows and overall love the genre so I am sure I can come up with lots to write about. Let me know if you have any suggestions! 😉

And here’s a little quote to leave you with:

“She just goes a little mad sometimes…. We all go a little mad sometimes” (Psycho, 1960)

This Means War

January 2, 2013

Good evening readers,

This is my first post of 2013. It feels strange to be writing 2013, but otherwise I feel no different about it being a new year. Anywho, I just watched the movie This Means War, starring Reese Witherspoon (one of my favourite actresses), Chris Pine and Tom Hardy. The movie is about two top CIA agents who discover they are dating the same beautiful woman, and battle one another for her. The movie is a romantic comedy, and has action for those who enjoy it. It was funny and very entertaining, and I enjoyed it quite a bit. I have always been a huge fan of Reese Witherspoon, ever since I watched her in Legally Blonde actually, and she is the reason why I wanted to watch this movie. I have seen Chris Pine in several movies, and I had not known who Tom Hardy was, until I found out that he was Bane in The Dark Knight Rises! I had absolutely no idea, so that was rather amusing for me.

Anyway, the movie was pretty good. The two guys are both very funny and will try everything to try to get the girl. Reese Witherspoon is funny and charming as usual, and plays her role well. I personally did not enjoy the ending, as I think Reese’s character made the wrong decision in the end, but I will leave it up to you to watch the film and see what you think. Overall I would give the movie a 7.5 out of 10. If you enjoy any of the lead actors, or you like romantic comedies check this out.

My 45th fact about myself is that I hate musicals! I don’t like musical tv shows, movies, plays or anything like that. People find that strange because I love going to concerts, but concerts are different. You are going to see an artist or band that you like and they will be playing songs that you like. You are only there for music. Musicals on the other hand are annoying because everything is normal, people are talking and then all of a sudden burst into song. I find it very irritating. I would much rather go see a comedic play or a horror movie. No musicals!

So today I went out and saw the new Silent Hill movie, and honestly I didn’t think it was that great. It was really strange. I prefer a simpler horror movie where the killer is killing stupid teenagers in the woods or something. I enjoy the suspense and jumps that movies such as Silent Hill brings, but I enjoy the gore and simplicity of regular horror movies such as Friday the 13th or the original Halloween. So I wouldn’t suggest Silent Hill Revelation to anybody.

Today is my 32nd day of my 50 days of facts. My fact for today is that Reese Witherspoon is one of my favourite actresses! She is always great in every movie, my favourite being Legally Blonde. xD
