Movie Ideas

If you haven’t figured it out yet (or you are new to reading my blog), I am a movie lover. I own tons of movies, I love watching movies in theatres, and I enjoy talking about movies. I do like movies from several genres, but my favourite genre hands down would be horror. My parents have been split up since I was 5, but I pretty much grew up on horror movies. When I was 10, I remember watching Scream with my mom. When I was 12, I remember watching They with my dad. Just two movies I specifically remember watching with them, but it’s funny how both movies are Wes Craven movies! My mom got me into Stephen King movies (and books) such as It and Sleepwalkers (which is awesome, if you haven’t seen it you really should). My dad also loves Stephen King, but got me into movies such as Halloween (one of the greatest movies ever made), A Nightmare On Elm Street and Night of the Living Dead. Even though they haven’t been together in 16 years, it was cool growing up with both parents sharing a love of the horror genre and having it passed down to me.

I own tons of horror movies, including Halloween, A Nightmare On Elm Street, Friday the 13th, Scream, Jaws, Pet Sematary, Prom Night, The Grudge, Stay Alive, Dead Silence and many, many more. Honestly, I just can’t get enough of the genre in general, and for those of my friends who do not enjoy horror, it’s not so much of a great thing (haha). I also love thrillers, which a lot of horror movies can be included in, since it is sometimes difficult to put some movies into a specific genre. I love the suspense, the violence and the gore of horror- although I know that makes me sound like a lunatic, but I really don’t care. I don’t enjoy over the top gore, such as Saw 3 (not a good movie), and I have no use for drugs, nudity and sex in movies but those tend to go hand in hand with horror.

Right now I am looking to add to my movie collection, and I want ideas! Some movies I would like to get are Carrie, Silence of the Lambs, Psycho and Sleepwalkers. Does anyone have any horror suggestions for me? Also, what are your favourite horror movies? 🙂
