50 Facts About Me: Day Six

Hello readers!

My sixth fact of my 50 days of facts is: I love animals! I would do just about anything for them, whether it be my dogs, a stray cat or a wild animal. I love my friends and family, but I have always said that animals are better than most people. Animals don’t lie to you and try to screw you over. Animals love you unconditionally and I will always go out of my way to help them, no matter what. It is great for people to love animals, but you can’t say you’re a true animal lover if you will eat them. I am a true animal lover 🙂

Garfield

If you love animals, but haven’t seen the Garfield movies, I would suggest watching them. I bought Garfield the movie and Garfield: A Tail Of Two Kitties on dvd two days ago. I had watched both movies before but didn’t remember them well. After watching them again, I can tell you that there are lots of adorable animals in both movies, and if you love animals you should definitely watch them. They are a little cheesy, but cute nonetheless.

Garfield is voiced by Bill Murray, and Breckin Meyer and Jennifer Love Hewitt also star in both movies. Check them out 🙂

I’m sure you all know if you’ve been reading my posts, that I love our family’s dogs. Even though I love our doggies, I will always been a cat person at heart. When my friend shared this video with me, I found it hilarious. The video is called Proof That Cats Are Better Than Dogs:

Cats or Dogs

Are you a cat lover or a dog lover?

Sometimes choosing can tell a lot about you. I grew up having cats, and have always considered myself a cat lover. I volunteer with cats and kittens, and love them so much! I also love dogs though. My family has two dogs: a black lab named Chief, and a shih-tzu named Ozzy. I love both of our dogs very much and would do anything for them. No matter how much I love my dogs though, I am still a cat lover!

I find that cats are very independent and incredibly intelligent. Dogs are more happy when they’re with other dogs or people, and I know dogs can be very smart, as they can learn names and commands, but I still believe cats are a bit smarter. They just choose not to learn commands 🙂

Either way, I love cats and dogs! Do you think you’re a cat or dog lover?

Two Friends

Fears

Everybody is afraid of something. Whether we like to admit it or not, we all have a fear of something. My mom, my sister and one of my best friends are absolutely horrified by spiders (Arachnophobia). Both of my dads are afraid of heights (Acrophobia), although one is much more afraid of heights than the other. My grandpa and my other best friend (not the one afraid of spiders) are afraid of snakes (Ophidiophobia). There are many other fears such as fear of death, fear of fire, fear of the dark, fear of clowns, fear of needles and fear of germs. Since I am writing about fears, I thought I would tell you mine (just don’t make fun of me!). My main fears are:

Fear of Snakes: Ophidiophobia- This would be my major one. I can’t even see pictures of snakes without flipping out.

Fear of Heights: Acrophobia- I have trouble going on some roller coasters because of this, and I also can’t go on ladders or the roof or anything like that, although that also has to do with the fact I sometimes suffer from vertigo. I can fly though, which doesn’t make a lot of sense.

Fear of Seaweed (not sure of a scientific name for this)- I know this one is weird, but I really freak out when I’m swimming and seaweed touches me. I think why it scared me is because I’m afraid that its a snake touching me, because I’m so scared of snakes.

Fear of Open Spaces: (Agoraphobia)- Now don’t get me wrong, it’s not that I’m afraid to go outside. My problem is when there is a lot of empty space around me, such as in a movie theatre when I sit in the aisle seat, or if I sit in a chair that doesn’t have a wall or something behind it. This one isn’t too bad for me, I’m better than I used to be but it still bothers me. I guess it’s because I’m afraid of someone going into that empty space that I don’t know and who could harm me in some way. It’s very difficult to explain, but I’m pretty sure that it has to do with how I find it incredibly difficult to trust people and let them in emotionally. It could also be the fact that I really don’t like certain people touching me.

When I was a kid, I was afraid of dogs. Obviously I’m not anymore though because my family has two dogs who I love very much! I’m also not a big fan of the dark. I’m not afraid of it, but I have bad night vision so it’s difficult for me to see in the dark, therefore I don’t like it all that much. Oh, and I really don’t like germs, more than most people I think. I don’t have a fear of them though.

So, now that you know all about me and my fears (which nobody is allowed to hold against me!), you should tell me yours. Sometimes its good to just get things out in the open.

Best Friends

Chief had his best friend Stryder over today. The two of them are so cute together that I just had to take pictures to show them off. 🙂

 Stryder has Chief’s toy, and Chief looks so happy to have Stryder over!

Skunk

I think skunks are very cute. We have a lot of them in my neighbourhood, since I live near a ravine. Many people in the neighbourhood have a dog, myself included, so we all must be careful when we’re walking them at night. Nobody wants to be sprayed by a skunk!

In spite of their tendency to spray people if they feel threatened, I still think they’re cute.
