Wow, have I ever been ignoring this blog.

Wow, have I ever been ignoring this blog. To be honest, my priorities have changed the last few months. Mostly the things on my mind have centered around working, volunteering and going back to school. I’m not online quite as much as I used to be, although I use my laptop almost everyday.

For anyone who is still following my blog, I’d love to hear some feedback on things you would like to read or see. I’m thinking I’ll try to start posting photos I have taken and go from there.

Allison Brennan

If any of you enjoys reading novels of suspense, check out Allison Brennan’s work. She is one of my favourite authors! Most of her novels are considered romantic suspense and they are fantastic. A few weeks ago I was able to find two of her novels that I have been looking for for years now, Fatal Secrets and Cutting Edge. I was so excited to finally find them, so I read the first book in that particular series again, Sudden Death, and it is a fantastic read. Lots of suspense, a ton of surprises and some romance thrown in.

I believe I now own 18 of her novels and 3 of her short stories/ novellas. I am a huge fan of her writing and will tell just about anyone who will listen! If any of you are a fan of suspense or just want to check out a great book, look for one of Allison Brennan’s novels. Believe me, you won’t be disappointed!

And on a side note, her series Speak No Evil, See No Evil and Hear No Evil made me very interested in sexual assault/ abuse and about six years ago I did a school assignment based off of this series. Recently, I have decided to go back to school, and go to university to take Women’s and Gender Studies, so one day I can work as a women’s counselor in a shelter or community centre, or work in women’s rights. I believe that reading Allison Brennan’s books over the years, and especially that particular series, sent me in this direction which is amazing! So thank you to Allison Brennan for opening up my eyes and for giving me fantastic books to read. 🙂

 

Boston

I just wanted to write a short post today about what’s happened in Boston. There were three explosions this afternoon as the Boston Marathon was happening. I have read that at least 2 people are dead and 28 people are injured. The numbers seem to keep changing though so I could be incorrect on that number. Either way, this is a horrible thing to have happened, and even though I am nowhere near the area, seeing as I am in Canada, it is still very scary to hear about. Why on earth people would do something like this, I will never understand. My thoughts go out to all of the people involved and I hope they find whoever did this and throw them in jail.

Animals

For anyone who is an animal lover/ advocate, you should check out www.peta.org and www.peta2.com You can read lots of information about what they do, sign petitions to help animals, and even get free stuff! For an avid animal lover such as myself, I love these websites. I’ve been a part of them for many years. Check them out 🙂

Neglect

I realized that I have been neglecting my blog. I have been focusing my energy on my horror blog: www.horrorlovers.wordpress.com and writing for www.horror-lovers.ca. I apologize for this, and I will try my best to post more.

This last week has been the Canadian Music Festival in Toronto and last night I went to two shows. Once I upload my photos I will post the photos and some info about the shows!

Fashion Star Season Two

Season Two of Fashion Star premiered tonight! I just watched the episode and I am excited to continue watching this show!

CB Marathon

Today I am having a Christian Bale marathon. I am watching the three batman movies. I love the story behind all of the movies and there are so many funny lines in this movie I could have pages and pages of quotes I could share. Plus I think Christian Bale is very cute and is good in the role of Bruce Wayne/ Batman.

Pretty Little Liars

A few days ago I discovered that the first two seasons of Pretty Little Liars was added to netflix. One of my friends follows this show, and I have watched episodes here and there, but have never followed it. I have now watched the first nine episodes of season one, and I am really enjoying the show. It is about four teenage girls who’s friend goes missing and is found dead one year later. They drifted apart in that year, but are brought back together when they start receiving creepy and threatening messages from someone called A. They are now trying to find out who A is, as well as who killed their friend Alison.

Does anyone else watch this show? So far it is quite good and I am going to continue watching it! If you do watch it though, please don’t tell me any spoilers!

January 17th

Yesterday my day was filled with cats and friends. In the morning, I went to volunteer with the cats at the shelter I’ve been volunteering at for over 3 and a half years. I worked with one cat in particular named Kazoo who is a total sweetheart.

Afterwards I met my best friends at the mall for a late lunch, some shopping and to catch up, which was really nice. Because I was out all day I didn’t get a chance to post anything! For that, I apologize. I hope you all had a nice day yesterday too 🙂

January 15th

Today is one of my best friends’ birthdays!

I went and applied for some jobs today, since my seasonal job just ended. It sucks having to look for another job, but there’s nothing I can do now except look for another one.

A little while after I got home from my two trips out to look for a job today, I sat down and watched the movie Elf. I have seen it several times and it always makes me laugh. I am not usually a fan of Will Farrell movies, but this one is funny. It is about a man named Buddy who was put up for adoption at birth and ends up being raised at the North Pole by elves. He goes to New York City in search of his identity and birth father. This 97 minute film came out in 2003.

If you want to see a funny movie, try watching Elf. After a frustrating day of job searching, it was nice to be able to laugh.

Top Five Colours

Today I would like to tell you my top five favourite colours. They are all bright and wonderful!

• Pink (I love bright and dark pinks)
• Yellow (Bright yellow only)
• Purple (I like both dark and light purples)
• Red (Deep red)
• White (Not off white)

I’m usually the kind of person who wears bright colours and has bright accessories. Seeing as I’m also blonde, I’m usually pretty bright to look at! What are your favourite colours?

New Blog

I would like to introduce my new blog: Horror Lovers.

I decided to make a new blog that will be all about horror. Everything from movies to books to facts will be written about on my blog, and I hope every fan of the horror genre will check it out! From now on, I will not be writing about horror on this blog, so that I can leave it all for the new one. I will still continue to post regularly on this blog about all of the many topics I love to write about, so don’t worry I am not abandoning you all. I am still in the midst of transferring some horror posts over to the new blog, so bare with me, but please check it out and follow Horror Lovers.

An Interesting Find

Good evening,

I have been looking over my statistics for my blog, and I have found something very interesting and very intriguing. My home page is my most viewed page, but as for the most viewed blog post, that would be 2012 Horror Movies I Look Forward To. I wrote the post last January, and it has been viewed over 530 times, which is more than 200 times more than the next most viewed post. I find this very interesting, because as you may know already, I love horror movies. As a genre, they are better than any other genre, and I have seen so many that there is no possible way to count them all. I embrace the title Horror Buff, and could talk Horror all day long.

Since I now know that this is such a popular topic among my wonderful readers, this means I will write more posts about horror movies and all of their glory. If there are any movies in particular you would like me to write about or review, let me know. This will also give me a chance to go more into the genre in other ways than just movies. I read horror novels, watch horror shows and overall love the genre so I am sure I can come up with lots to write about. Let me know if you have any suggestions! 😉
